ELIZABETH CADY STANTON

"You may begin."

Elizabeth Cady Stanton was a strong advocate for women’s rights and an active member of the suffrage movement. Elizabeth gained a plethora of legal information from her father, a lawyer, and used that towards making change within the country. She was also active in the anti-slavery movement and held many important women’s rights conventions. She wrote many books including three volumes of The History of Women’s Suffrage. She was a strong advocate against slavery and discrimination towards women and was one of the most forward thinkers of her time. Unfortunately, she died eighteen years before women were given the right to vote and never got to see her efforts come to fruition.
