MARY PICKFORD
"You can't do it!"

Mary Pickford (1892-1979) was a famous American motion-picture star in the 20th century. Throughout her career, she was known as “America’s Sweetheart.” Mary Pickford was a great example of the early 1900’s “new woman,” who found immense success in her profession and opened her doors to all sorts of opportunities that were unthinkable for women prior. She demanded equality for women inside and outside the home, and set the tone for many young women after her.
