PHOEBE BURN

"Help Ms.Catt put the rat in ratification!"

Phoebe Burn's son, Harry Burn, was a representative of East Tennessee, and they had a vote to approve the 19th amendment. They tied in the first round of voting, and Harry Burn’s mother wrote him a letter to try and convince him to vote for women's suffrage. The next day at the vote, he voted to approve the amendment and it passed.
